It will be an honour and a pleasure for our team to represent i-EM during the “Space for Innovation” workshop, organized by the Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (ASI) in cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA). Our project MOWGLI (MicrO reneWable Grid for ruraL Indian areas) has been selected to be presented during the workshop in the morning, after the welcoming speech by the President of ASI, Giorgio Saccoccia, and the Director of ESA, Magali Vaissiere.

The event will take place on the 16th December 2019 in ASI headquarters in Rome and it will be focused on show-casing how space assets can contribute and impact society and its economy, following the last and recently concluded European Space Agency (ESA) Ministerial Conference – Space+19. The Italian Ministry Economic Development (MISE) will make the key note speech about “Circular Energy and outlook in the energy sector” and, among them, also Ernesto Ciorra (ENEL Head of Innovability and Sustainability), Rita Rinaldo (ESA Head of Institutional Applications Projects) and Virginia Raggio (Mayor of Roma Capitale) will be speaking during the workshop.

Besides i-EM team and these high-profile guests, several other representatives from user communities and institutions will contribute their views regarding new challenges in their areas of competence and ESA BASS (Business Applications Space Solutions) will present the current and upcoming opportunities for industry to pursue innovative ideas, addressing user needs in the context of the new digital age for the benefit of the citizens.
